JUST IN: The 24's CEO Marsha Williamson To Retire With Tim Grigsby Taking Over The Helm

Jun 7, 2023 1:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

Last week Dallas 24 Hour Club (aka The 24) held a “small event” privately revealing that its CEO Marsha Williamson was retiring.

Well, dad-gummit! Another North Texas leader is hitting the retirement trail.

It was during her decade tenure of leading The 24 that the organization was at a turning point. Its “dilapidated building’s” repairs were “siphoning off critical resources.” Thanks to Marsha and supporters, a couple of remarkable partnerships came through starting in 2016. The 24 received the Citizen HKS Award for $250K in architectural services to design a new facility.

She then tapped KDC CEO Steve Van Amburgh “to galvanize the Dallas construction community to build a new $4.5M, 14,000-square-foot facility on a 95% pro bono basis.”

But she wasn’t through gathering talent and commitment. Marsha managed to get Michael Young to lead a fundraising effort that resulted in more than $1M.

In March 2018, The New Facility on Ross with its 75 beds opened and served more than 600 residents that first year and “more than 3,000 homeless men and women receiving help to get off the streets and recover from drugs and alcohol.”

In 2021 it opened Tillman House, an 18-unit apartment complex just a walk away from The New Facility.

Over the years there have been more programs and resources including job training and medical services.

But Marsha isn’t totally going off into the sunset. She is simply transitioning to “the role of CEO Emeritus” until 2025, serving “as a consultant focused on fundraising for the non-profit’s signature fundraiser including the Dallas All-Star Chef Classic and Tea for Recovery.”

Seamlessly picking up for Marsha on Friday, September 1, will be Highland Park/St. Marks of Texas alum Tim Grigsby, who “checked in as a Resident in 2012, after several stops at treatment centers and sober living facilities.” Over the years Tim has grown from Resident Liaison to current COO.

His journey with The 24 helped to “cover the cost of his remaining college courses” leading to his 2017 graduation. No wonder Tim regards The 24 as “his favorite place on God’s green earth!”

Congratulations to Marsha, Tim and all those benefiting from The 24’s mission.
